Man-Napped! - By Santiago (Prologue)
Prologue
Adams stopped at his front door to check the time. It
had been another stressful day, an exceptionally stressful one actually. He had
had to deal with two angry clients and then his sister had called to say her
daughter was very ill and he had gone over to see her and then he spent three
hours trying to see the bug in a code he had written a week ago, turned out the
fault was in a misspelling, an accidental extra character he had typed in.
Right now, he felt like crashing on his bed and sleeping off - Yea, with his
shoes and glasses on.
He looked at
his watch; it was 9:00p.m. Wait a minute, wasn’t today Friday? He had missed
beer-o-clock with his best friend, Daniel. That would be the first time anyone
of them ever missed. Beer-O-clock was their way of relaxing and catching up
about the week’s activities. Every Friday by 8:00p.m the two friends took turns
meeting at each other’s house to eat suya and drink beer. They called it
Beer-O-Clock, yea, it came from a movie they had both seen.
Okay, maybe he could still make it. He would just be late, terribly late, but he was sure Daniel would understand. Beer-O-Clock was at Daniel’s house this week. Wait up there; if Beer-O-clock was by 8:00pm and neither of them had ever missed before, then shouldn’t Daniel have called him to check? This was 9:00pm, an hour late! Okay maybe Daniel called and he had missed the call, or perhaps he had texted.

Adams stopped and brought out his phone to check if Daniel had called or texted. He saw a text from Daniel. He opened the text and he couldn’t close his mouth from shock. The day he dreaded most was probably here. He dropped his phone in shock, whatever had happened wasn’t good.
The text on his phone read:
“MAYDAY!”
